Ice Skating and Mommy Daughter Playdate

A couple of things in this update. Canyon and Presley have started up with skating lessons at our local community center. Canyon has picked right up where he left off last year but is doing even better with his new skates. And Presley is also doing great, scooting around on the ice, all by herself. Also this past weekend, Canyon had a pool birthday party that he took Dad to. While he was at the party, Presley and Mom went to a local nature center for some fall hiking, some cool craft projects, and playing with some cool animals.

Fall Festivals are Fun

The Pergandes have been enjoying some nice local fall festivals. At the Eden Prairie Sunbonnet Festival, we had pony rides, apple eating contests, hunting for "pennies" in the hay, live music, and playing with old fashioned toys. We also had time to check out Children's Day at Grimm's Farm, where the kids made pencil holders, husk dolls and apple cider. Mom and Dad walked on stilts and we all enjoyed some horse drawn carriage rides. Fun family time!

Fall Sports Begin

The kids have started their fall sports. Canyon has a great fall Soccer team ("The Dragons") and Presley has just started gymnastics, a great way for her to use her endless energy. We are keeping busy with our fall sports, in addition to skating and swimming lessons.

Canyon's First Day of Kindegarten

Wow! They say life keeps moving. But this week, for me (Mom), it really rang true. I wept a ton as Canyon passed this major milestone. He did great and is excited about the next stage in life. Here are some pics from his first day of school. We made waffles for breakfast (his request) and we saw other friends at the bus stop. Here are some excerpts from our most amazing morning!

Labor Day Weekend Festivities

It's officially nearing the end of summer. We stayed in Minnesota and enjoyed nice family time. We went to the coolest miniature golf course (Big Stone Mini Golf) that was designed from cool statues, art, mazes, and plants. Also the course was filled with cats, roosters, and goats, which made the golfing that much more fun and adventurous for the kids. We also spent a day at our club pool since this is the last weeknd that the pool was open. A great weekend close to home!

Enjoying Nice Days of Summer

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous in Minneapolis and we've been trying to get out and enjoy the last days of summer before Canyon starts Kindergarten (wow!) and Presley extends her preschool to 5 days a week. This past week we went scootering, played at a neary by park, and went bike riding on the local trails. Presley is also excited to show off her new clothes from Aunt Kasie!
