Some January Updates

In the Pergande household, we finished off 2009 with the kids Christmas vacation. The kids had the week between Christmas and New Year's off and we tried to enjoy new things in MN. During the break, Mom and the kids visited the Bell History Museum, which is dedicated to highlighting the animals/regions of MN using large dioramas as the medium.

During this winter, the kids also took ski lessons at a place 8 minutes from our house. It's been fun watching them progress. While they are in their lessons, Mom and Dad have been able to do some skiing on their own. It's no Colorado but it's a fun family activity nonetheless.

This past week we also enjoyed Eden Prairie Hockey night where all the Mite Hockey teams played games on the outdoor ice. It was a beautiful evening with kids skating everywhere, great local food, and bonfires. This is why people grow up loving hockey. This is a picture of Canyon's hockey team. The guy in the red hat graduated from Eden Prairie High School last year but has already been drafted by the MN Wild and is currently going to University of MN.

This season, Presley has also started basketball. She has been having a blast with her own sport. Check out her great dribbling skills on her first practice day.

Christmas With Family

We had an amazing Christmas holiday with family. Uncle Don, Aunt Roz, and cousin Laila arrived first. We enjoyed winter activities like sledding and building snowmen. Auntie and Grandma Harriet arrived next. Grandma Harried hosted a cookie making party and the kids made their own pizzas. We had some crazy winter weather and were excited that Auntie Kimmy and Grammie were not delayed by the winter weather. On Christmas Eve, we also hosted Grammie's cousin, our "Aunt" Barbara and our 2nd cousin Anne, husband John, and their two kids. It was a big and cozy Christmas Eve Dinner.

On Christmas morning, the kids were delighted with all the presents and the surprises from Santa. It was a nice relaxing day filled with game playing, Kringle eating, jigsaw puzzles, and lots of coffee. We finished our holidays with our traditional bowling fun and also a trip to the Nickelodeon amusement park at Mall of America.
