Pergandes Go Solar!

We have officially embarked on our next adventure, installing 30 solar panels on our house under a leasing program. The panels should generate about 70% of our electricity needs. We were nervous for the neighbor reaction but have decided it is the right thing to do and it's a solid statement about making a positive difference for our environment.

This month, we also had a baseball adventure with our Cub fan pals Mark and Michelle. They hosted a box at the Saints game. The mascot Brat Favre and a real pig visited us in the box. The kids had an absolute blast and we enjoyed our up close seats and special attention. What a fun night. And the Saints won in extra innings!

Overdoing it in May

Okay, so maybe we over committed. Okay, so maybe our house is in disarray. But life is short and you just need to keep moving forward. May is definitely our overlap month with lots of overlapping activities. Canyon is involved with Spring Hockey but baseball and soccer have also started. This year he decided to try "Travel" Soccer. And now as Presley is older, she also wants all her sports, which adds complication to the family schedule. This spring she is trying her hand at track (see her first meet below), softball (Mom is one of the coaches), and soccer (Dad is the coach). It's definitely too much but we are actively trying to let our kids explore different activities to figure out what things they might love. Here is a picture of Canyon's soccer team and a video from Presley's first track meet.

Each spring, the kids' school has a concert/fundraiser for a social cause. This year the concert/fundraiser was for Haiti. The kids get dressed in costumes. Presley was extremely nervous and shy to be seen in her costume (yes that's her in a dress) but she really shined as she performed her dance with her class. Canyon also shined in his Latin dance with his partner.

This month, Presley also had a reunion picnic with her preschool friends from Hopkins. We met at a local park and the kids reengaged and hung out like old times. It was fun to see Presley's old pals.
