Fargo Squirt Hockey International Tournament

Pergandes had our first taste of Fargo this year. Canyon's Squirt A hockey team traveled to Fargo, ND for the largest squirt hockey tournament in the world, with 128 teams participating. The weekend was an absolute blast with lots of fun memories for the kids, the siblings, and the parents! We hired a bus to take us to Fargo. The weekend was filled with swimming, team lunches and dinners, knee hockey at the hotel, and some great hockey. Canyon's team won 4 out 5 games, landing them in 5th place out of 64 teams for their level. There were teams from Canada, Las Vegas, and Arizona at the tournament. Additionally, we got our first taste of the "pin trading" experience, a true cultural experience. All the kids, players and kids loved it (although Presley was very selective with her trades). Fun weekend!

Presley's Field Trip to the Zoo

Mom was so excited to be able to go on a field trip with Presley. Her class was going to the MN Zoo. We had an awesome day checking out the inside animals and outside animals. It was a winter day but a really nice day. We had lunch with her class, had their passports stamped at various stations where the kids spoke Spanish, and had a great time. Fun day. Fun experience for Mom!

Canyon's 11th Year Birthday Party

For Canyon's birthday, he wanted to go tubing and have a sleepover. He invited 7 friends to go tubing at Buck Hill. It was a pretty chilly night. Most of the boys said they didn't need long underwear or handwarmers (Mom and did though). They tubed for about 1.5 hours and then we headed back to our house for pizza, cake, and presents. No boy's birthday would be complete without some rough housing. The boys had a mini olympics with Madden football Wii, knee hockey, rugby and foosball. They slept in the basement and woke up to some chocolate chip pancakes, bacon and fruit! A success!

Family Birthday Celebrations

We had two family celebrations for Presley and Canyon's birthdays. Canyon chose Osaka, a Japanese steakhouse, where they shoot water and broccoli in to the kids mouths, have fire shows, and enjoy Japanese soda. For Presley's birthday, she chose pizza from Gina Maria's, our favorite pizza and movie night.

Presley's 8th Year Birthday Party

Presley was very excited to celebrate her 8th birthday. For her birthday, she invited 7 girls for a birthday party sleepover. We started the night at the Water Park of America, where the girls played on the lazy river, swam in the wave pool, slid down the body slides and raft rides, jumped on the ropes course, and enjoyed Pizza. The girls did an awesome job staying with their buddies. After the water park, we headed home for birthday cake, opening presents, heart craft making, a fun sleepover in the guest room. The girls enjoyed a fun pancake breakfast in the morning (on Presley and Canyon's actual birthday)!

Canyon's First Band Concert

This year Canyon started playing the saxophone for Band. He absolutely loves it! He recently had his first concert and had a nice speaking part. He plays at school and also every Friday with Elliot, his instructor, who encourages him and gets him excited about playing.

Presley 8U Hockey Season

Presley decided to try hockey again this season. And she is absolutely loving playing and loves her team. She is always the first one to practice and excited to practice stick handling at home. Last year, she didn't like hockey and now she loves it. Fun to see the shifts for these young kids!
