Roseau 2017

This is Canyon's last year as a Bantam hockey player and the last year of association, which also means that last year of of out town tournaments with the parents. Since this was Canyon's last big tournament and the Roseau tournament is legendary for many reasons, Mom and Dad decided to go together. We are fortunate to have a great hockey family that was also willing to take care of Presley while we were up in Roseau. While the boys did not have the best results in terms of wins on the board, this tournament weekend did not disappoint with many memories for the record book. Here are some of the highlights...

The starkness of the town is straight out of a movie..

Legendary Bobcat doesn't disappoint with an Elvis performance with Ron at the Legion

Mommies were first on the board with ice fishing and their icehouse was THE place to visit for snacks, dancing, and minnow swallowing.

Great team bonding time...

A bus ride home to remember with stomach bug explosions and ice crashing into our driver's window...

But ultimately, getting to spend time with Canyon was priceless...

New Years 2017

We were excited to have no hockey for New Year's Eve weekend so the Pergandes headed out of town with our friends, the Holjes and the Hedlunds, for a ski weekend in Wausau, WI at Granite Peak.

We arrived on Saturday for a couple of hours of tubing at Sylvan Tubing Hill before heading to our cabin where the Canyon and his two pals slept outside in a tent to ring in the new year. Crazy!

On Sunday, the first day of the new year, we skied and snowboarded all day. Kids skied non stop from noon until the hill closed at 9 PM. It was so great to see them enjoy it so much after several years off.

Christmas 2016

Pergande celebrated Christmas 2016 with Grandma Harriet, Aunt Kimmy, and Grammie. Our Christmas week started on a tougher note as Canyon was diagnosed with pneumonia on the 19th. He did not respond to the first round of antibiotics and needed to start a second before finally turning the corner on the 25th. We delayed our traditional Christmas eve dinner until the 26th. However, we still had an amazing holiday with great memories and some great traditions.

Grammie and Kim get stuck in MN because of holiday snow storms... Grammie gets to stay for our delayed Christmas Eve dinner on 12/26 with the Abbey family. Dinner includes old traditions like cookie decorating and chocolate fondue and new traditions like the paper plate game.

This holiday season also included a post Christmas adventure into St. Paul to see White Christmas with Grandma Harriet at the Ordway Theater.

Nice holiday week after all.
