Remembering and Celebrating Kate Fronek

Presley's friend, Kate, would have turned 14 on 8/18/17. Her loss is deeply felt by our community. It was beautiful to see hundreds of her friends and family come to together to celebrate her birthday. We celebrated with rootbeer floats at Lake Riley. One of her friends read a beautiful poem and then we all let off 200 teal balloons. It was a beautiful and tender moment. We miss you Kate!

Saying Goodbye...

It was with a heavy heart we had to say goodbye to Aunt Carol this summer. Carol has always been demonstrated unconditional love and support for everyone in her lives. She was an anchor in bringing our family together. For the last 12 years, Carol has powerfully battled ovarian cancer. She showed strength until the very end. I was fortunate to be able to spend time with her and say goodbye to her during her final week. While we are going to deeply miss her, we appreciate her strength and her ability to bring family together. She celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary this year as well as her 70th birthday this year. I have included in this post, her wedding picture. I have also included some pictures that show how she brought family together even in her final days. We will miss you Aunt Carol! Hugs forever!

August Summer Highlights

With kids glued to their devices, I feel like I spend half of my time kicking them out of the house to enjoy these fleeting days of summer. Here are some of the highlights from August..

Canyon and his best buddy Jack "bonding"...

Taking the kids for some frisbee golf and then ice cream at a new frisbee golf course near our house...

We had a great trial run taking care of our neighbor's dog, Josie, for a week. She was awesome. Presley, Mom and Canyon are ready to get our own dog. Now we just need to convince Dad...

Presley enjoys a nice visit with a friend who was in town visiting from Prague...

The rare solar eclipse exceeded our expectations. Was fun to experience with our neighbors and friends...

Mom and Dad had a nice date night out with friends to see Blind Pilot at the Minnesota Zoo...

Summer Hockey Comes to An End

Presley had a summer full of hockey. This summer, she woke up at 5:15 am every Monday and Wednesday to train with other girls born in 2004 from 6:30 - 9:30 am at Minnesota Made. Was amazed at her dedication to the sport. I have included a couple of photos taken from those morning training sessions.

This summer she also played with the Ice Cougars. Her team won 3 of the 4 tournaments they competed in. It was a fun summer with a great group of girls and families.

Baseball Season Comes to an End

Baseball season is officially over for the summer. Canyon's team made it to the semi finals of the state playoffs (coming in 3rd). Because they made it to the end, they were invited to walk on the field at Target Field and then enjoy the game with their team. This is always a fun experience for their team.

Last playoff game with their team...

At Target Field...

Canyon was also selected to represent his team in the August Classic, which includes top players from each team in a fun post season tournament that allows you to play with kids from other teams around the Metro. This year, Eden Prairie was paired with Bloomington and Edina. Canyon was excited because he got to pitch a couple of innings over the course of the weekend (he normally just catches).
