Thanksgiving 2018

These days, we stay home for Thanksgiving because of the busy hockey season. It is usually a peaceful day filled with lots of family games and all the traditional Thanksgiving foods. This year, we were lucky to have Aunt Kimmy make the long journey from Chicago. We enjoyed the usual traditions but also enjoyed nice trail walks with Roxxy and a special outing to US Bank Stadium to see the Eden Prairie Eagles compete for the High School Football State Championship (unfortunately they lost).

On Sunday, after Kimmy left, we headed to Hampton Hills Tree Farm to cut down our Christmas tree. We were disappointed with the size of the trees but it was fun to see Canyon take control of the tree cutting and fun to have Roxxy along for the ride.

November Excerpts

Winter is on the horizon and hockey season has begun. Here are a couple of highlights from the family's November adventures.

Presley with her friend Elle at the St. Paul Hotel for the Annual Tea for National Charity League (Mom was in New Orleans)

Mom and Canyon's annual tradition at the Wild Game. This year, we got to watch Eden Prairie's very own Casey Mittlestadt playing in Minnesota for the first time. There was a huge crowd from Eden Prairie to support him.

Presley's hockey season kicked off with a tradition of "crazy outfit day" for the underclassmen. Mom thinks Presley got off pretty easy.

Mom's Girls Trip in New Orleans

Mom traveled to New Orleans the first weekend of November to spend some quality time with pals from UCLA. We had an amazing weekend filled with great food, fun tours, late night music, great shopping and fun catching up in a great city. Can't wait until the next time I see these lovely ladies!

Mom arrived before everyone else and enjoyed a nice tour through the Garden District and Lafayette Cemetery

We enjoyed amazing dinners every night. This was from our first night at a NOLA classic, Mother's, where we enjoyed Ferdis with "extra debris".

The next morning we enjoyed a culinary bike tour near Frenchman's street the Marigny neighborhoods

We enjoyed rides along the historic trolley.

Nice run along the riverwalk

My roomie and UCLA bestie, Ann Frossard

Hurricanes at Pat O'Briens

And no trip to NOLA would be complete without Beignets from Cafe Du Monde

Baptism and Confirmation

We were very honored to have Pastor David Lillejord from St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Eden Prairie baptize our entire family on Tuesday, October 23rd, 2018. It was an intimate and special ceremony that we now share as a family!

And then on Sunday, October 28th, we were excited to see Presley get confirmed with Grandma Harriet and Auntie in town to witness. A special service for a special girl.

The weekend was capped off with a surprising upset from Canyon's HP16 Tier 1 team for the championship at Schwan's Super Center. Fun to have family in town for the exciting game!

Halloween 2018

Mom and Dad attended a fundraiser on the Friday before Halloween, where we brought back an old Halloween costume as Leprechauns (thanks to Aunt Kimmy). We won the costume contest! The Sunday before Halloween, Presley had a friend over to carve Pumpkins. And this year, we also had our newest family member participate in Halloween as a shark! This holiday never gets old :)
