Lots of great family highlights in March. Presley ended her hockey season with a tournament. Her team took third place. It was a super fun season with some great girls and some great families. And she's excited to play again (not retire).
We finally got some snow in March and the kids had their first snow day. The kids and Cristina enjoyed sledding and making snowmen all day. While the snow was fun, we are all getting ready for Spring.
Mom had to travel with her team to Expo West in California. It as a great visit with some walks down memory lane. Mom ran into two classmates from UCLA at the expo, walked by our old place on 34th Street in Manhattan Beach down to the strand, had tacos at El Tarasco, and enjoyed a nice dinner with Sharon, Eric, and Audrey.
We are also very excited when we found out Canyon won an 700-800 word essay contest from the Optimist Society on the topic of "How Do I Help My Friends Realize Their Value?". He won first place out of 70 entries. His picture and essay were published in the local papers. And he won a $50 gift certificate to Barnes and Noble. Canyon was super proud and Presley has now been inspired to enter an Oratorical Contest in April.
Canyon also had a band festival, which included the bands from 3 of the elementary schools, the middle schools, and the high schools. Super cool event that ended with all the bands playing Stars and Stripes. Canyon absolutely loves playing his Saxophone!
