We have been very busy and it's been hard getting our posts posted. But it's been fun as we got ready for the back to school time. 2009 has been a pretty cold summer but the last 3 weeks have just been amazing. For Labor Day weekend, we spent time on the boat and finished with a trip to Adele's, a great frozen custard place that is owned by my friend Jenny. She was there this time so the kids got to go behind the counter and make their sundaes and Dad's sundaes. They thought that was the coolest!
On Labor Day, we went to the State Fair, an end of summer tradition for our family. The kids had a blast in the funhouses, playing games, and going down the giant slide. And this year, they went on the Tilt-a-Whirl for the first time by themselves. As usual we ate too much food, including our favorites like Nitro icecream, cheese curds, and corn on the cob. One of this year's highlight was watching the Lumberjack contests.
Tuesday, September 9th was Canyon's first day of school as a 2nd grader. He is getting so mature. He chose his special breakfast of Eggs Maxie and we took our annual picture by the tree in our front lawn.
Wednesday was Presley's very first day of school as a Kindergartner. I asked her if she was nervous and she said "I am excited and happy!" She was so brave as she got on the bus and Canyon was a great big brother, sitting with her on the bus and walking her to her classroom everyday for a week.
At the end of this week, Trisha and her team from work went sailing on Lake Minnetonka. Another beautiful day and a fun way to get out of the office.
Presley and Canyon are also very busy in Fall Soccer. Here's a picture from "picture day". Dad is the head coach again this season but he was out of town and missed the team picture. He was very sad to miss it.
